Well, it is Thursday again and I am ready for the weekend.  We have alot to get done this weekend but I am just hoping to get a majority of it finished.  Saturday morning, Rod is wanting to take me out to breakfast then off to Lowe's to pick out some crown molding for the living room.  After that, it is home bound to start painting and stripping and cleaning and well you name it.  There is just alot I want to get done before Labor Day weekend.

Well, I haven't been on in a little while I know but life around here has been very busy.  We have recently divided one large bedroom into 2 and are trying to get them finished among about a million other things.  We went last weekend and bought the paint and the flooring so that when Rodney finally gets the sheetrock mudded I can start in.  I am not real sure how he feels about the colors (pink and teal) but that is what the girls were wanting so that is what I bought.  He just said, it is their rooms and they can shut the doors lol.
We bought two more nanny goats but they are not cooperating very well with the milking.  I don't guess the guy that we got them from messed with them much.  I think Rodney is going to dry them off until they get good and used to him, so that maybe after their next litter they won't be so wild.
If you don't hear anything for awhile, don't fret.  We are going to be busy little O'Possums.  Labor Day weekend we are hosting the Wallace family reunion at our house (AHHHHHH).  With all the remodeling we have been doing and still plan to do, I just hope we are ready when Labor Day gets here.  Rodney told me that it has been several several years since they have all gotten together, so it will work out one way or another.
Wish us luck and if you are a painter, a decorater, or just a maid....come on over for a visit.  I will feed you and give you the beverage of your choice ;)

I went to the doctor today mainly because I have a headache everyday without fail.  My blood pressure was up so, among other crap we discussed and going to follow up on further, I am now on medication everyday.  This is one thing that I was truly hoping wouldn't happen.  I am way too young to have to depend on a pill to keep from stroking out.  I quit smoking 6 weeks ago, and NOW I have to start taking medicine.  Talk about a bite in the rear.  Oh well, I am going to start watching what I eat a little more, drink more water, and start walking until I can get myself in a little better shape where I can do more.  Wish me luck folks, I am on a mission :) !!!

Reba, the lovely hen duck pictured above, hatched 19 babies since yesterday.  I can't wait to see all of them running around the yard and playing in the pool with the others.

Our yard and barn is full of babies.  I guess it is that time of year.  We have baby chickens, ducks, rabbits, pigs, and kittens.  You can barely walk through the yard without having to step over a little one lol.
What is that in my pool?  No it is not Coca Cola or hot chocolate.  It is dark red water.  We filled the pool up this weekend with the water from our well and it had a light orange tint.  Without researching more, we shocked it and BOOM we ended up with this mess.  We have been changing filters often and have taken a few hints from others but we are still dealing with muck.  I have put socks over the intake and outtake hoses but if this worked for others, it sure isnt working for us.  So the next step is, either letting it settle out and trying to vaccuum it or draining the pool and starting from scratch.
After researching my flub up, I have learned this...
First and foremost, always prefilter your water going into your pool.
Never ever shock the pool til it has filtered most of what is already there out.
And dont get in a hurry just because you are hot and want to play in the water
           lol.

Well I am up this morning, but I am not really what they call "at it" yet. :)  We finally got the pool set up last night.  I am really hoping Steve brings the big pump over today to fill this thing up because I am thinking filling it up with a hose is going to take 2 weeks.
Rodney is going to be gone today and I really dont know what I am going to do with myself.  I need to clean from top to bottom and get something done with these plums although I am not full of motivation yet so I guess only time will tell.
Have a great day and I'll be back later.

Rodney brought home 2 buckets of these sweet little plums last night (Thanks Tracy) so now I get to figure out what I am going to do with all of them.  Maybe freeze some, can some, and a little jam?  I guess that will take up part of my time this weekend.  I will be sure to post pics and let you know how it all turns out.
